Development and Practical Applications of Payment Services after Implementation of the PSD 2

Abstract:

Platební služby po implementaci směrnice PSD 2 zaznamenaly mezi klienty bank během posledních dvou let značné navýšení v jejich využívání. Nový zákon o platebním styku s sebou přinesl zcela nové možnosti jak pro samotné uživatele, kteří díky tomu vnímají tento způsob placení za bezpečnější, rychlejší a inovativnější, tak i pro bankovní a FinTechové společnosti. Nedílnou součástí tohoto tématu je zároveň i digitalizace, která po implementaci směrnice PSD 2 zasáhla oblast bankovnictví ještě intenzivněji než kdy dříve, a posouvá tak tradiční bankovnictví do zcela digitálního prostředí. Cílem bakalářské práce bude prostřednictvím analýzy konkrétních digitálních bankovních leadrů potvrdit dopady implementace směrnice PSD 2, mezi které patří nárůst využívání internetového a mobilního bankovnictví, dále pak zvýšení využívání bezkontaktních platebních služeb a v neposlední řadě poté snižování počtu poboček. Součástí práce bude i nastínění budoucího vývoje platebních služeb a bankovnictví obecně.

Abstract:

After the implementation of the directive PSD 2, the payment services have registered considerable increase in its using amongst bank’s clients in last 2 years. The new law on payment systems brings completely new possibilities both for the users, who consider new payment methods as safer, faster and innovative, and for banks and FinTech companies. However, the integral part of this topic is digitalization, which after the implementation of the directive PSD 2 has affected banking system more intensely than ever and shifts the traditional bank system into the digital environment. The aim of this thesis is to confirm impacts of the implementation of the directive PSD 2 via analysis of particular bank digital leaders. Amongst those impacts can be included the increase in using the internet and mobile banking, the increase of usage contactless payment services and last but not least the reduction of the number of branches. Nevertheless, outlining the future payments services development and development of the bank services in general is also the part of this thesis.
