The Process of Adaptation of Young Children in Kindergarten in the View of Teachers and Parents

Abstract:

Tématem této práce je proces adaptace dětí v mateřské škole. V kontextu s tímto procesem se práce nejprve zabývá sociálně emocionálním rozvojem předškolního dítěte z hlediska vývojové psychologie předškolních dětí a konfrontuje tuto oblast s hlavními principy kurikula pro předškolní vzdělávání. Pohlíží na proces adaptace v mateřské škole jako na jednu z etap socializačního procesu člověka. Popisuje socializaci předškolního dítěte v rodině a v rámci institucionální péče a zaměřuje se na adaptaci dětí v mateřské škole. Poukazuje na průběh celého procesu a na případné adaptační problémy. Uvádí doporučení pro podporu a usnadnění průběhu procesu adaptace dítěte. Na základě empirického výzkumu seznamuje s pohledy učitelek a rodičů na proces adaptace dětí ve vybrané třídě mateřské školy. Tato práce reflektuje význam rodiny a mateřské školy pro sociální a emocionální rozvoj předškolního dítěte a snaží se zdůraznit, že jejich vzájemná kooperace je pro úspěšnost adaptace dítěte v mateřské škole velice důležitá.

Abstract:

My thesis explores the adaptation process of young children in the kindergarten environment. The thesis deals with a social and emotional development of a pre-schooler from the point of view of developmental psychology first and then it compares this point of view with main principles of the pre-school curriculum. The adaptation process in kindergarten is viewed as one stage of the human socialization process. It describes the young child socialization in his/her family and in the institutional care environment with the focus on the adaptation process of the young children in kindergarten. It refers to the progress of this process itself and to a few possible issues of this adaptation. The thesis also presents recommendations and how to support and ease the adaptation process of the young children. Based on empirical research this thesis informs readers about personal views of kindergarten teachers and parents on the topic of the adaptation process of young children in a particular kindergarten class. This thesis reflects the value of family and kindergarten for the social and emotional development of a pre-schooler and tries to highlight that the mutual cooperation is for the successful adaptation of the young child necessary.
