Abstract:

Moje bakalářská práce s názvem Sentimental animals je soubor grafik s figurální tematikou, tištěných technikou linorytu. Soubor obsahuje 14 listů, papíru Flora, o rozměrech 49 x 69 cm. Technika linorytu je doplněna monotypem. Barevnost monotypu je velmi jemná a koresponduje s barvou papíru. Kresba je hravá, evokuje dětské kresby, či nepřehledné zápisky z deníků, stává se abstraktním komentářem k hlavním figurativním grafikám. Odehrávají se zde nejrůznější příběhy a konverzace. Způsob kresby velmi podobný stylu Art brut, který ve své podstatě používá nekorigovaný proces našeho podvědomí, jako zdroj inspirace, či jako hlavní hybnou sílu tvorby. Sny a podvědomí hrají důležitou roli v mé tvorbě, jelikož se domnívám, že skrze zkoumání těchto světů se o sobě dozvím zase o něco více. Grafika pomocí linorytu je tištěna soutiskem dvou barev, které jsou jemně posunuté. První modrá vrstva reprezentuje určitý řád, po kterém lidé touží. Druhá červená vrstva je jakási dravost a divokost v nás. Tyto dvě kontrastní barvy mezi sebou vytvářejí dynamiku, která se odehrává v jemné krajině dětských kreseb na monotypu. Je to jakýsi symbol protikladů, které v sobě máme každý. Desky jsem potiskla technikou monotypu a linorytu, stejným způsobem jako celý grafický soubor, jen jsem zvolila jinou barevnost.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis and practical work titled Sentimental animal is a series of linocut prints with a figurative theme. The series contains 14 sheets with the format of 49x69 of printed linocuts supplemented with the monotype technique on flora paper with the weight of 130. The colour scheme of the monotype is very soft and corresponds with the colour of the paper. The drawing is playful and evokes childlike drawings or undistinguishable diary notes, it turns into an abstract commentary of the main prints. In this series of works different stories and conversations take place. With this approach the whole series is connected to each other. To achieve a line that isn't too hard but at the same time visible I used a strip of cardboard; for a more harsh line I used a the nib of a pen. The style of the drawing is similar to the style of art brut, which in principle uses an unrectified process of our unconsciousness. Dreams and the subconscious are my main source of inspiration and the trigger for the motion of my work, because I think that through the examination of these worlds I can find out more about myself. Moreover, the lino block is double-printed with two tones of colour. One layer of colour is offset from the other. The first layer of blue; represents an order which is desired by people. The second layer of red; is representative of the ferocity and wildness that is in humans. These two contrasting colours create between themselves a dynamic, which is set in the land of children's drawings. It is also a symbol of the contradictions which we all have in us.
