Analysis of factors influencing natality and viability of calves in a specific farm

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na analýzu faktorů ovlivňující natalitu a životaschopnost telat v chovu českého strakatého skotu v soukromém podniku. Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit, jestli se telata narodila živá, zdravá, na vysoké úrovni životaschopnosti a tudíž s předpokladem pro další využití v chovu a vybrané faktory ve výsledcích vyhodnotit pomocí matematicko-statistického sledování. Za roky 2018 a 2019 se narodilo 1117 telat z 1071 porodů. Hrubá natalita byla 111,7 % a čistá natalita 107,1 %. Životaschopnost byla hodnocena dle vlastní metodiky inspirované metodikou hodnocení obtížnosti porodu a interními záznamy podniku. Byla hodnocena na základě sacího reflexu do 2 hodin po narození a problémům s pohybovým aparátem do 24 hodin po narození, anebo narozením mrtvého telete. Na životaschopnost telat po porodu mělo největší vliv pohlaví telat a narození dvojčat. Zároveň byla vyvrácena teorie, že životaschopnost telat je ovlivňována paritou plemenice, hmotností telete nebo obtížností porodu.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis was focused on the analysis of factors affecting the birth rate and viability of calves of Czech Fleckvieh cattle at priváte farm. The aim of the work was to evaluate whether the calves were born alive, healthy, at a high level of viability and therefore with a assumption for further use in breeding. Selected factors in the results were evaluated using mathematical-statistical monitoring. 1117 calves were born from 1071 births in 2018 and 2019. Gross birth rate was 111.7 % and net birth rate 107.1 %. Viability was assessed according to its own methodology inspired by the methodology of assessing the difficulty of de-livery and internal company records. Viability was assessed on the basis of sucti-on reflex within 2 hours after birth and problems with the musculoskeletal system within 24 hours after birth or the birth of a dead calf. The viability of calves after birth was mostly influenced by the sex of the born calves and the birth of twins. At the same time, the hypothesis that the viability of calves is directly influenced by the cow parity, calf weight or birth difficulty has been rejected.
