Particularties of business and cultural environment in countries of the Arabian Peninsula and potential for Czech exporters

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zhodnocení příležitostí pro český export na Arabský poloostrov. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol obsahujících informace o kulturních odlišnostech a obchodním jednání, makroekonomické situaci zemí a jejich komparaci a komoditní a teritoriální struktuře obchodu. Poslední kapitola identifikuje oborové příležitosti regionu, je zaměřena také na spotřebitelské preference v zemích Arabského poloostrova a kompletuje ji dotazníkové šetření o vstupu na arabský trh českou firmou. Výstupem je shrnutí silných a slabých stránek jednotlivých zemí, výběr vhodných zemí pro vývoz a identifikace nejperspektivnějších oborů. Zvažované země jsou Sýrie, Irák, Libanon, Jordánsko, Západní břeh Jordánu a Pásmo Gazy, Izrael, Saudská Arábie, Spojené arabské emiráty, Kuvajt, Bahrajn, Katar, Omán a Jemen. Práci doplňuje kapitola o kulturních specifikách a specifikách obchodního jednání s partnery Arabského poloostrova. Pro splnění těchto cílů jsou použity metody komparace, popisu, dotazníku a makroekonomické analýzy.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is an evaluation of opportunities for Czech exports to the Arabian Peninsula. The thesis consists of three parts containing information about cultural differences and business negotiation, macroeconomic situations of the countries and their comparison and it offers also commodity and territorial structure of trade. The last chapter identifies sectors opportunities, it is also focused on consumer preferences in the countries. A survey about an entry of a Czech firm reaching the Arabian market supplements the whole body of the thesis. An output is a summary of strengths and weaknesses of each of the countries; a choice of export - promising countries and identification of the most perspective fields. The countries being considered in this thesis are Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, West Bank and Gaza, Israel, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Yemen. The thesis is complemented with cultural specifics and specifics of business negotiation with Arab partners. For goals to be accomplished, methods such as comparison, description, questionnaire or macroeconomic analysis were used.
