Violence commited on seniors.

Abstract:

The dissertation deals with the violence committed on old people, ways of prevention and keeping the safety of old people. The goal of the dissertation is to inquire violence as a negative social phenomenon which affects the present society, without any reaction and without raising any significant interest of the society in solving and preventing violence on old people. The first part of the dissertation tries to introduce these issues to the reader, it clarifies and determinates the basic terminology which is worked with later in the text. In the theoretical part, I have included the definitions of the central terms ?old person? and ?old age? which clarify the specifics of the target group, and also the violence committed on the target group as a research issue of the dissertation and the current view on the safety of old people in our society. The main part of my dissertation is the empirical part consisting of the methodology, analysis and interpretation of data of the qualitative research of violence committed on old people and strategies of maintaining their safety.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá násilím páchanom na senioroch, možnosťami prevencie a udržanie bezpečnosti seniorov. Cieľom diplomovej práce je preskúmať násilie ako negatívny spoločenský fenomén, ktorý postihuje súčasnú spoločnosť, bez reakcie a vyvolania väčšieho záujmu verejnosti na riešení a predchádzaní násilí na senioroch. Prvá časť práce sa snaží uviesť čitateľa do danej problematiky, objasňuje a vytyčuje základné pojmy, s ktorými sa neskôr v texte pracuje. Do teoretickej časti som zahrnula vymedzenie centrálnych pojmov senior a staroba, ktoré objasňujú špecifiká cieľovej skupiny, ďalej násilie páchané na cieľovej skupine ako výskumný problém diplomovej práce a súčasný pohľad na bezpečnosť seniorov v našej spoločnosti. Hlavnou kapitolou mojej diplomovej práce je empirická časť pozostávajúca z metodológie, analýzy a interpretácie dát kvalitatívneho výskumu násilia páchaného na senioroch a stratégiami udržania bezpečnosti.
