Acting (Playing) with the stage fright

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Hraní (si) s trémou“ se zabývá úzkostí a trémou jako jedněmi ze základních lidských emocí, popisuje vztah úzkosti k výkonu, představuje pojem performační úzkost. Práce předkládá výsledky výzkumu týkajícího se míry úzkosti u 36 studentů herectví. Míra úzkosti žen se v den premiéry nelišila od míry úzkosti mužů, ovšem studenti byli prokazatelně úzkostnější před premiérou než před divadelní zkouškou.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis “Acting (Playing) with the stage fright” deals with terms anxiety and stage fright concerning not only actors. It occupies with anxiety as it is one of the fundamental human emotions, it describes the relationship between anxiety and performance and introduces the term performance anxiety. The thesis presents results of the research which explored 36 student actors’ rate of anxiety. On the opening night there was no difference between actual anxiety rate of women and men. On the other side the research proved that students suffered from stage fright much more on the opening night than on rehearsals.
