Stressful situations in the work of novice teachers

Abstract:

Bakalářská diplomová práce se věnuje stresovým situacím v práci začínajících učitelů. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, s jakými stresovými situacemi se začínající učitelé nejčastěji ve své praxi setkávají, jestli a jakým způsobem vnímají, že mají stresové situace dopad na jejich práci a jak se snaží stresové situace zvládat. Práce se skládá z teoretické a výzkumné části. V teoretické části jsou vysvětleny pojmy jako začínající učitel, stres či stresová situace a uvádí možné formy prevence vzniku stresových situací v práci učitele. Ve výzkumné části jsou interpretována zjištění kvalitativního výzkumného šetření plynoucí z osmi hloubkových polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se začínajícími učiteli na základní škole. Na základě výsledků výzkumu lze respondenty rozdělit do tří skupin podle toho, jestli je stresují aktéři, se kterými přichází do kontaktu, práce související s přímou pedagogickou činností nebo jestli stres nepociťují. Z výzkumného šetření dále vyplynulo, že se dělí na dvě skupiny podle toho, zda se na jejich práci stres odráží nebo neodráží. Taktéž bylo zjištěno, že učitelé mají různé mechanismy zvládání stresových situací.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis focuses on stressful situations in the work of novice teachers. The aim of the thesis was to identify the most common stressful situations encountered by novice teachers in their practice, whether and how they perceive the impact of stressful situations on their work, and how they attempt to cope with stressful situations. The thesis consists of theoretical and research parts. The theoretical part explains concepts such as novice teacher, stress, or stressful situation, and provides possible forms of prevention of stressful situations in the teacher's work. In the research part, the findings of a qualitative research investigation resulting from eight in-depth semi-structured interviews with novice teachers at primary schools are interpreted. Based on the research results, respondents can be divided into three groups according to whether they are stressed by the actors they come into contact with, work related to direct pedagogical activities, or whether they do not feel stress. From the research investigation, it also emerged that they are divided into two groups depending on whether stress reflects on their work or not. It was also found that teachers have various mechanisms for coping with stressful situations.
