Developement of Over-the-counter derivatives after the implementation of the MiFID II

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se v úvodní části zabývá současnou problematikou, obecným popisem mimoburzovního trhu a klasifikací derivátových kontraktů. V dalších kapitolách se práce zaměřuje na obecný popis Směrnice o trzích finančních instrumentů I a Směrnice o trzích finančních instrumentů II a analýzu situace mimoburzovního trhu na globální úrovni. Poslední část zkoumá dopad a reakce na mimoburzovním trhu derivátových kontraktů dle rizikových tříd a typu derivátových kontraktů v Evropské unii po implementaci druhé z výše uvedených směrnic. Cílem práce je analýza vývoje obchodní aktivity a posouzení likvidity na evropském mimoburzovním trhu v podmínkách narůstající intenzity regulatorního rámce. Na základě veřejně publikovaných dat nelze u úrokových, měnových, akciových a kreditních derivátů po implementaci nové legislativy pozorovat změnu trendu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the current issues, the general description of the Over-the-counter market and the classification of derivative contracts. In the next chapters, the diploma focuses on the general description of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II and the analysis of the OTC market from the global perspective. The last part examines the impact and response of the OTC derivatives market according to the risk classes and the type of derivative contracts in the European Union after the implementation of the second of the above-mentioned directives. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the development of business activity and to determine the liquidity on the European OTC market in the context of the increasing intensity of the regulatory framework. Based on published data, a trend change in interest rate, currency, equity and credit derivatives due to the implementation of the new legislation hasn't been observed
