Reception of abstraction in the Czech art of the first half of the 20th century
Abstract:
Abstrakce v českém meziválečném umění nezaujímá výsadní postavení, přesto je jeho pozoruhodnou součástí. V českém prostředí dopadala na úrodnou půdu jen velmi pozvolna, snahy o její prosazování narážely spíše na nepochopení. Tato práce si klade za cíl pojednat, kudy do českého umění pronikala a jak byla v českém uměleckém prostředí přijímána.
Abstract:
Abstraction in Czech interwar art does not have a privilege position. However, it is a remarkable part of Czech art. In the Czech environment, it has turned very slowly into the fertile soil. Efforts to promote it were rather misunderstood. The aim of this thesis is to discuss the way in which Czech art penetrated and how it was accepted in the Czech artistic environment.
