Attitude to prevention of burnout syndrome by personal assistants of people with physical handicap

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem postoje osobních asistentů u osob s tělesným handicapem k prevenci syndromu vyhoření. V teoretické části jsou definovány základní pojmy – postoj, osoba s tělesným handicapem, tělesné postižení, handicap, syndrom vyhoření, prevence syndromu vyhoření, osobní asistent a osobní asistence. Metodologická část obsahuje charakteristiku kvalitativní výzkumné strategie a vybrané metody polostrukturovaného rozhovoru, operacionalizaci výzkumných otázek a postup realizace výzkumu. Bylo provedeno celkem 7 rozhovorů – 4 s osobními asistentkami řízené osobní asistence a 3 s osobními asistentkami sebeurčující osobní asistence. Rozhovory byly následně zpracovány pomocí otevřeného kódování. Interpretace dat je zachycená v interpretační části práce. V závěru práce je zodpovězena hlavní výzkumná otázka, dále v ní jsou uvedeny návrhy pro další výzkum a doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the attitude to prevention of burnout syndrome by personal assistants of people with physical handicap. The theoretical part of the thesis describes basic concepts – attitude, a person with a physical handicap, physical disability, handicap, burnout syndrome, prevention of burnout syndrome, a personal assistant and personal assistance. The methodological part contains the characteristics of qualitative research strategies and method of semi-structured interview, operationalization of research questions and implementation process of research. There were performed a total of seven interviews, four with personal assistants managed personal assistance and three with personal assistants self-determined personal assistance. Interviews were then processed using open coding. Interpretation of the data is captured in the interpretive part. The main research question is answered at the end of this thesis. Also I make suggestions for next research and I give recommendations for practice.
