Manifestation of mental retardation in The three tree test.

Abstract:

Test tří stromů je nestandardizovaná projektivní metoda zaměřená na diagnostiku rodiny. Jejím autorem je portugalský profesor a doktor medicíny R. J. Corboz. Tématu Tří stromů se věnovala už řada diplomových prací, jež potvrdily diskriminační schopnost testu v oblasti rodinných vztahů. My na jejich práci navazujeme s cílem zjistit, zda se odlišují kresby dětí s mentální retardací od kreseb zdravých dětí. První část práce poskytuje teoretický rámec pro náš výzkum. V následující empirické části se věnujeme výzkumu samotnému. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo celkem 122 dětí ve věku 10 – 13 let, z nichž necelá polovina, 50 dětí, tvořila experimentální soubor dětí s mentální retardací. Dětem byl individuálně administrován Test tří stromů spolu s dotazníkem poskytujícím základní informace o dítěti a jeho rodině. Test byl vyhodnocován na základě zvolených kritérií.

Abstract:

The three tree test is a non standardise projective method focused on the family diagnostics. It was created by Portuguese professor medical doctor R. J. Corboz. The Three Tree method has been subject of many dissertations, which confirmed discriminatory ability of the test in the family relationships field. We follow in their work aiming to find out if there is any differentiation between the drawings of mentally retarded and neurotipical children. The first part provides a theoretical framework for our research. In the follow up empirical part is dedicated to the research itself. There is 122 children between the age of 10 -13 in the research out of which less than half, 50 children, formed experimental population of mentally retarded children. They were individually given the Three Tree Test along with the questionnaire providing the basic information about the child and his family. We found out that there are some distinctive differences in some features while in some there are not.
