Channel Belt Dynamics in Ohře River in Relation Historical Contamination

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá studiem vývoje korytového pásu oblasti středního toku Ohře, mezi obcemi Sedlečko a Vojkovice. Výběr zkoumaného úseku Ohře navazuje na předchozí práce, které vznikly v rámci projektu GAČR 15-00340S. Mezi hlavní použité podklady pro výběr lokalit patří mapy stabilního katastru (1840), letecké snímky (1938), digitální model terénu (2011) a ortofotomapa (2011). Úprava těchto dat zahrnovala fotogrammetrické zpracování leteckých snímků z roku 1938, georeferenci mapových listů stabilního katastru a tvorbu digitálního modelu terénu z bodových dat DMR5G (DTM). Vedle geomorfologických změn byla sledována také míra kontaminace říčních sedimentů vybranými těžkými kovy (Cu, Sn, Pb), jejichž zvýšené koncentrace souvisí s historickou těžbou v povodí Ohře. Na základě analýzy stávajících i nově vytvořených dat v programu ArcGIS Desktop bylo vybráno 14 lokalit, kde se říční koryto bočně pohybovalo. Ty se pak staly předmětem detailnějšího hodnocení geomorfologického vývoje a podkladem pro výběr polohy 21 odběrových míst (vrtů). Z hodnocení vývoje korytového pásu Ohře ve vybraném úseku je patrné, že koryto řeky se od dob vrcholící těžby systematicky zužovalo a poměrně rychle zahlubovalo do vlastních sedimentů. Rozloha středových korytových lavic a souvisejících odbočených koryt se od roku 1938 podstatně snížila. V novodobé historii tak muselo dojít ke změně hydrologického režimu Ohře, kdy v říčním údolí středního toku posílily erozní a transportní procesy. Odebrané vzorky z odběrových míst umožnily provést prvkovou analýzu a popsat litologii říčních sedimentů. Míra kontaminace v odebraných vzorcích byla zjišťována metodou rentgenové fluorescenční spektrometrie (XRF) ručním přístrojem v laboratorních podmínkách. Ve všech vrtech se podařilo najít sedimenty se zvýšenými koncentracemi těžkých kovů, z čehož vyplývá, že chemické složení analyzovaných vzorků bylo výrazně poznamenáno dlouholetou hornickou činností v krušnohorských a slavkovských rudních revírech.

Abstract:

These Thesis deals with the study of the river belt development in the middle reach of the Ohře River between villages of Sedlečko and Vojkovice. The choice of the examined section of the Ohře River have stemmed from previous works that were performed within the GAČR 15-00340S project. The main data used for the site selection included maps of the Stable Cadastre (1840), aerial photographs (1938), digital terrain model (2011) and orthophoto map (2011). Conversion of these data sources included photogrammetric processing of aerial photographs from 1938, georeferencing of map sheets of the Stable Cadastre and creation of a digital terrain model from DMR5G data points (DTM). In addition to geomorphological changes, the extent of river sediments contamination by selected heavy metals (Cu, Sn, Pb) was analysed, of which the increased concentrations are related to historical mining in the Ohře River catchment. Based on the analysis of existing and newly created data in the ArcGIS Desktop software, 14 locations were selected, where the river channel moved sideways. They were then subjected to a detailed evaluation of the geomorphological development and provided the basis for selection of the 21 sampling points (drill sites). From the evaluation of the development of the Ohře River channel belt in the selected section, it is evident that the river channel has systematically narrowed since the mining peak and relatively quickly incised into its own sediments. The area of the river channel bars and subsequently branched channels has decreased significantly since 1938. In modern history, the hydrological regime of the Ohře River had definitely changed, as erosion and transport processes have intensified in the middle reach of the river. Sediments taken from sampling sites enabled to perform the elemental analysis and to describe the lithology of river sediments. The degree of contamination in collected samples was determined by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) with a hand-held instrument under laboratory conditions. Sediments with increased concentrations of heavy metals could be found in all drill sites, which means that the chemical composition of the analyzed samples was significantly affected by long-term mining activity in the Krušné Hory and Slavkov ore regions.
