Developing Skills for Coping with the Unexpected

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce má za cíl identifikovat vzorce chování, znalosti a dovednosti potřebné k zvládnutí nečekaných krizových situací podporující odolnost organizace a dále zkoumá možnosti jejich rozvoje v organizaci. Předmětem této práce je aplikace a implementace výzkumných výsledků Mag. Dr. Evy Born a Univ. Prof. Dr. Rainera Borna, které jsou dále rozšířeny o výsledky analýzy kvalitativní studie v Armádě České republiky. Identifikace a výzkum souboru organizačních předpokladů probíhá na úrovni jednotlivců a týmů, které čelily nečekaným krizovým situacím převážně v zahraničních operacích. V empirické části jsou prezentovány výsledky analýzy kvalitativního výzkumu, diskuze, relevance pro civilní sféru a možnosti odolných organizací. V závěru práce jsou naznačeny směr a možná úskalí případného dalšího výzkumu.

Abstract:

The goal of this master thesis is the identification of behavioral patterns, knowledge and skills needed for coping with unexpected critical situations, supporting resilience of an organization, and it further explores the possibilities of their development in an organization. The subject of the thesis is the application and implementation of outcomes of the research conducted by Mag. Dr. Eva Born and Univ. Prof. Dr. Rainer Born, these are further supported and expanded on with Czech Army qualitative study analysis results. The identification and research of organizational hypothesis is carried out at the level of an individual or a small team that faced unexpected critical situations in predominantly foreign operations. The empirical part of the thesis presents the qualitative study analysis results, discussion, relevance to the civilian domain, and possibilities of resilient organizations. The conclusion of the thesis indicates further direction as well as possible pitfalls of potential scientific research.
