Accounting for Securities

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je účtování cenných papírů. Za cíl jsem si vytýčila vyjmenovat druhy cenných papírů, vybrané cenné papíry blíže definovat a ukázat na názorných příkladech jejich účtování. Nejprve se ve své práci věnuji cenným papírům všeobecně, dále se zmiňuji o jejich legislativní úpravě, o různých způsobech členění cenných papírů a jejich druzích. Pro zachycení cenných papírů do účetnictví je především důležité jejich ocenění a to jak dle české legislativy tak i dle IFRS. V krátkosti zmiňuji rozdíly mezi účetnictvím dle IFRS i českých zákonů. Upozorňuji na existující rozdíly existují při účtování cenných papírů u podnikatelů a finančních institucí. Ve své práci ukazuji na příkladech účtování cenných papírů oběma způsoby. V závěru práce se zaměřuji na výnosy plynoucích z cenných papírů a různé možnosti jejich zdanění.

Abstract:

The subject of the thesis is the accounting of securities. The aim is to name the kinds of securities, to specify some chosen securities, and to give some illustrative examples of their accounting. Firstly, the thesis deals with securities in general, then it refers to their legislative regulation and also to different ways of dividing securities as well as their kinds. Keeping a record of securities in accounting is mainly important for their appraisal according to the Czech legislation and also under IFRS. I briefly mention the differences between the accounting under IFRS and also Czech law. I point out some existing differences when accounting securities with entrepreneurs and financial institutions. My thesis presents some examples of accounting securities in both ways. Finally, I concentrate on the profit resulting from securities and different possibilities of their taxation.
