Needs of patient with paraplegia

Abstract:

Cíl: Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je formou kazuistiky popsat subjektivní prožívání onemocnění u pacienta s paraplegií, bio-psycho-sociální potřeby pacienta v průběhu onemocnění a dopad onemocnění na život pacienta a jeho rodiny. Metodika: Empirická část bakalářské práce je zpracována metodou kazuistiky. Kazuistika je rozdělena na anamnézu, která popisuje stav pacientky před vznikem onemocnění, a na katamnézu, která je rozdělena do čtyř částí. První popisuje vznik poranění, druhé období hospitalizace na ARIM a ARIM NIP, třetí období hospitalizace na spinální jednotce a čtvrté období v rehabilitačním ústavu. Kapitoly jsou následně doplněny o analýzy a interpretace. Výsledky: Kazuistika popisuje bio-psycho-sociální potřeby pacienta s paraplegií a jejich saturaci, která byla tímto onemocněním značně omezená. Z počátku hospitalizace se pacientka musela spolehnout na zdravotnický personál, který saturoval její potřeby za ni. Potřeby, jež vystupovaly v období hospitalizace do popředí, a jež by si pacientka přála saturovat více, byla potřeba být bez bolesti, potřeba hygieny a potřeby sociální a kulturní. Závěr: Paraplegie významně ovlivňuje uspokojování bio-psycho-sociálních potřeb pacienta. Plnění těchto potřeb je u jednotlivých pacientů individuální, proto je důležité zajistit kvalitní a dostatečnou ošetřovatelskou péči, která povede k maximální saturaci potřeb a zkvalitnění pacientova života.

Abstract:

Aim: The main goal of the bachelor thesis is to describe the subjective experience of the disease in a patient with paraplegia, the bio-psycho-social needs of the patient during the disease and the impact of the disease on the life of the patient and his family. Methodology: The empirical part of the bachelor thesis is processed by the method of case studies. The case report is divided into a medical history, which describes the patient's condition before the onset of the disease, and a medical history, which is divided into four parts. The first describes the origin of the injury, the second period of hospitalization at ARIM and ARIM NIP, the third period of hospitalization at the spinal unit and the fourth period at the rehabilitation institution. The chapters are then supplemented with analyzes and interpretations. Results: The case report describes the bio-psycho-social needs of a patient with paraplegia and their saturation, which was considerably limited by this disease. From the beginning of her hospitalization, the patient had to rely on medical staff to saturate her needs for her. The needs that came to the fore during hospitalization, and which the patient would like to saturate more, were the need to be pain-free, the need for hygiene and social and cultural needs. Conclusion: Paraplegia significantly affects the satisfaction of the patient's bio-psycho-social needs. Fulfilling these needs is individual for individual patients, so it is important to ensure quality and sufficient nursing care, which will lead to maximum saturation of needs and improve the patient's life.
