Infection as possible cause of autoimmune response in human

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vztahem mezi infekcí a autoimunitou. Autoimunitní onemocnění mohou být vyvolány nebo spouštěny infekčním agens. Většina infekčních agens, jako jsou viry, bakterie a paraziti, indukují autoimunitu prostřednictvím různých mechanismů. Některé z nich jsou antigenně specifické, v nichž patogenní produkty hrají klíčovou roli např. superantigeny, molekulární mimikry, kryptické antigeny nebo nové antigenní determinanty. Jiné jsou antigenně nespecifické, mezi ně patří bystander aktivace (náhodná aktivace) a rozšířené zpracování a prezentace vlastních antigenů, imunitní aktivace buňky a uvolnění cytokinů. V závěru práce je zpracovaná diagnostika autoimunitních chorob

Abstract:

This bachelor work deals with the relationship between infection and autoimmunity. Autoimmunity diseases can be caused and initiated by infectious agents. Most of the infectious agents such as viruses, bacteria and parasites induce autoimmunity by various mechanisms. Some of them are specific for antigen, where the pathogenic products play a key role, e.g. superantigens, molecular mimicry, cryptic antigens or new antigenic determinants. Others are non-specific for antigen such as the bystander activation and processing and presentation of antigens, immunity activation of cells and production of cytokines. Diagnosis of autoimmunity diseases is mentioned at the end of the work.
