Analysis of temporary and permanent dentin of children from Brno of 1-15 years of age with the focus on frequency of dental decay and teeth eruption

Abstract:

Tématem předkládané rigorózní práce je analýza kazivosti dočasného a stálého chrupu u brněnských dětí ve věku 1-15 let a prořezávání jednotlivých zubů. Výsledky získané analýzou získaných dat ze zdravotní dokumentace brněnských dětí jsou srovnávány s výsledky výzkumů z let 1994, 1997, 2000, 2003 a 2006, které provedl Výzkumný ústav stomatologický (VÚS) 1. Lékařské fakulty Univerzity Karlovy a Všeobecné fakultní nemocnice v Praze. Longitudinální výzkum s tříletou periodicitou byl zařazen Ministerstvem zdravotnictví ČR zařazen v roce 1994 mezi statistická zjišťování v resortu a byl organizován Ústavem zdravotnických informací a statistiky České republiky. Celkově tak bylo vyšetřeno v letech 1994, 1997, 2000, 2003 a 2006 vždy kolem 90 000 jedinců. Sledován je zejména mezinárodně srovnatelný ukazatel kazivosti DMF/DMFT (v ČR užíván jako kpe/KPE zuby na osobu), který hodnotí, zda vůbec a jak často zubní kaz vzniká. Odděleně je hodnocen dočasný a stálý chrup. Jedná se o tzv. průměrný počet kpe/KPE zubů na osobu, v dočasném chrupu značíme malými písmeny - kpe zuby na osobu. Teoretická část má za úkol přiblížit problematiku zubního kazu a prořezávání zubů z pohledu ontogeneze, anatomie chrupu a jednotlivých zubů a epidemiologie a histologie zubního kazu. Praktická část je zaměřená na analýzy dat získaných prostřednictvím dětských stomatologů regionu Brno-město a vyhodnocením samotného výzkumu a následným srovnáním s hodnotami referenčních souborů, jež byly výše zmíněny.

Abstract:

Prevailing issue of the presented Rigorous Thesis is analysis of caries experience in deciduous and permanent dentition of children from Brno at age of 1-15 years, and of eruption of individual teeth. The results acquired by the analysis of data from health records of Brno children are compared with results of: • researches in 1994, 1997, 2000, 2003 and 2006 that were done by Institute of Dental Research, First Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University in Prague and General University Hospital, and it was under organization of Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic. In 1994 the Ministry of Health included entire monitoring of oral health of Czech population into statistic surveys of the resort with a three-year periodicity. In total number there were checked about 90 000 individuals in 1994, 1997, 2000, 2003 and 2006. • national statistic surveys of below mentioned countries with the focus on the feature of dental caries appearance (DMF index). The issue under main consideration is an internationally comparable feature of dental caries DMF/DMFT (in the Czech Republic it is used as kpe/KPE teeth per person) which estimates whether at all and how often tooth decay appears. Deciduous and permanent dentition is evaluated separately. It is the so called mean count of kpe/KPE teeth per person in deciduous dentition we call kpe teeth per person. The task of a theoretical part is to illustrate the issue of dental caries and eruption of teeth from the perspective of ontogenesis, anatomy of dentition and individual teeth, epidemiology and histology of dental caries. A practical part focuses on analyses of data acquired by children dentists of Brno city region, then on evaluation of the research itself that is followed by comparison with values of referential databases mentioned above.
