Methods of anonymization and pseudonymization of clinical data

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje návrhu automatizovaných algoritmů anonymizace klinických dat v databázovém systému PostgreSQL. Implementován je model k-anonymity s metodami generalizace a suprese. Výsledné kombinace generalizovaných atributů jsou srovnány pomocí různých metrik ztráty informace. Z praktické demonstrace algoritmů nad reálnými daty cervikálního a mamografického screeningu České republiky je doporučeno využití metriky entropie a canberrské metriky. Optimální anonymizovaná datová sada je selektována díky interaktivní vizualizaci výsledků v aplikaci Microsoft Power BI.

Abstract:

In the master’s thesis, automated anonymization algorithms of clinical data are designed in the PostgreSQL. The k-Anonymity model is implemented through the methods of generalization and suppression. The resulting combinations of generalized attributes are compared by various information loss metrics. The practical demonstration of algorithms over real data from cervical and mammography screenings in the Czech Republic results in favour of the non-uniform Entropy and Canberra metrics. The optimal anonymized data set is selected using the interactive results visualization in the Microsoft Power BI software.
