Substitute upbringing care from the perspective of univesity students

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o náhradní výchovné péči z pohledu studentů Ostravské univerzity. Cílem teoretické části je seznámit čtenáře s vybranými oblastmi týkajícími se rodiny a náhradní výchovné péče, s důrazem na motivaci k náhradnímu rodičovství a problematiku pěstounské péče na přechodnou dobu v kontextu psychických potřeb dětí. Empirická část je zaměřena na zjištění důvodů, které by vedly k přijetí a nepřijetí dítěte do náhradní rodinné péče. Dále na zjištění názorů na problematiku "znevýhodněných" dětí a na nahrazování ústavních zařízení do tří let věku přechodnou pěstounskou péčí. Data byla získávána formou dotazníkového šetření. Výsledky ukázaly, že mezi nejčastější důvody, které by vedly studenty k přijetí a nepřijetí dítěte do náhradní rodinné péče patří: "Neplodnost", "Touha pomoci", "Potřeba smysluplnosti", "Ekonomické důvody" a "Vlastní zdravotní stav", "Nedostatek financí" a "Zdravotní stav dítěte". Mezi studenty byly nalezeny statisticky významné rozdíly ve volbě důvodu k adopci dítěte, k dlouhodobé pěstounské péče a k nepřijetí dítěte do náhradní rodinné péče. Názory studentů na problematiku "znevýhodněných" dětí a problematiku pěstounské péče na přechodnou dobu přinesly především to zjištění, že studenti jsou více nakloněni k přijetí dítěte se specifickými potřebami než dítěte odlišného etnika.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with substitute upbringing care from the perspective of students of the University of Ostrava. The aim of the theoretical part is to acquaint readers with selected areas of family and substitute upbringing care with emphasis on motivation for substitute parenting and foster care for a temporary period in the context of children's psychic needs. The empirical part focuses on identifying reasons that would lead to the acceptance and non-acceptance of the child in substitute family care. In addition, to find out the views on the problem of "disadvantaged" children and to replace institutional facilities up to three years of temporary foster care. The data was obtained through a questionnaire survey. The results showed that the most frequent reasons that would lead students to accept and not accept a child in substitute family care are confirmed by previous research. Among the students, statistically significant differences were found in the choice of the reason for adopting a child and long-term foster care also in the case of reasons for not accepting a child in substitute family care. Students' views on the issue of "disadvantaged" children and foster care for a temporary period have been brought primarily by the finding that students are more inclined to accept a child with specific needs than a child of a different ethnicity.
