Chemická komunikace patří mezi vývojově nejstarší dorozumívací prostředky v živočišné říši. Jedním typem chemické komunikace je přijímání pachů pomocí čichového systému. Dalším typem je komunikace mezi jedinci daného druhu pomocí feromonů neboli chemických poslů, které mají vliv na změny v chování.
