Abstract:

Záměrem této diplomové práce je prozkoumat funkci gest ve vztahu k řečovým aktům ve americkém seriálu Přátelé. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a analyticku část. Teoretická část se zabývá řečovými akty, především teorií John L. Austina a Johna R. Searla; a gesty rukou z pohledu nejvýznamnějších vědců, zabývajících se neverbální komunikací. Analytická část se zameřuje na samotnou analýzu řečových aktů a gest rukou, zabývá se funkcí řečových aktů a gest a také se snaží posoudit jejich vzájemný vztah.

Abstract:

The main aim of the thesis is to investigate the function of gestures in relation to speech acts in the American series Friends. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an analytical part. The theoretical part deals with speech acts, especially with John L. Austin and John R. Searle´s theories; and hand gestures from the point of view of the most outstanding scientists focused on nonverbal communication. The analytical part is focused on the analysis of speech acts and hand gestures, deals with the function of speech acts and hand gestures, and also observes the mutual relation between a speech act and a hand gesture.
