Anotace:

Práce se zabývá zobrazováním Muhammada v evropské a islámské kultuře. Cílem práce je na základě jednotlivých vizuálních projevů vytvořených západní kulturou, jenž zobrazují Muhammada, sledovat a analyzovat, zda a jakou proměnu prodělalo jeho zobrazování v evropském kulturním prostředí. Součástí práce je popis Muhammada a jeho vizuálních nosičů v islámské kultuře, kdy v rámci anikonického ztvárnění je Muhammad prezentován prostřednictví hilye a kaligrafie. V ikonickém ztvárnění jsou uvedeny příklady z knižních miniatur. Další část práce se věnuje vztahu islámského umění a figurálního zobrazení, kdy jsou představeny omezení a směrnice vztahující se k figurálnímu zobrazení tak, jak jsou definovány v koránu a hadíthech. Následující část práce se zabývá zobrazováním Muhammada v evropské kultuře. Tento okruh se věnuje období středověku a renesance, v rámci něhož je jedna kapitola věnovaná popisu Muhammada v Dantově Božské komedii. Dalším zkoumaným obdobím je období kolonialismu. Tento okruh je uzavřen popisem a analýzou kauzy otištění 12 karikatur proroka Muhammada v dánském deníku Jyllands-Posten, je tvořena především analýzou jednotlivých karikatur a reakcí muslimů na ně jak ve světě, tak i v České republice. Poslední část práce se týká nových médií (komiksu), ve kterých figuruje postava Muhammada.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with depicting of the Prophet Muhammad in European and Islamic culture with greater focus on the European culture. The aim of the work is to describe and analyze whether the depicting of Muhammad has underwent a change in the European cultural environment and to determine the nature of this change. This is done on the basis of individual visual manifestations created within the Western culture. Part of this work is also formed by the description of Muhammad and visual means of his depiction in Islamic culture – in this regard, as a part of an anti-iconic depiction Muhammad is presented through the means of hylia and calligraphy, whereas the book miniatures represent the iconic depiction. The following part of the work deals with the relationship between Islamic art and figural depiction. It presents the guidelines and restrictions concerning the figural depiction as defined in Koran and Hadiths. This part also includes two examples of breaking the prohibition of figural depiction in Islamic tradition in both profane and religious environment. The next part of the thesis is concerned with the depiction of Muhammad in European culture. This topic covers the period of the Middle Ages and Renaissance which includes description of Dante’s Divine Comedy. Another period covers the era of colonization. This part is followed by a description and analysis of the case of 12 caricatures of Muhammad published in Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. It involves the analysis of both the individual caricatures and reactions of Muslims around the world and in the Czech Republic. The last part of the thesis is focused on the new media, especially comics, in which the figure of Muhammad is depicted.
