Bakalářská práce je tematicky zaměřena na drény, drenážní systémy a pacienty, kteří jsou s drenáží ve společné interakci. Práce je rozdělená na dvě hlavní části. První část je teoretická, kde je popsaná všeobecná charakteristika drénů a drenážních systémů (historický vývoj, dělení drenáže, nejčastější oblasti zavedení drenáže v lidském těle, péče o drény atd.) a pacient.
