Coping Strategies of Social Educators

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na stresové situace, se kterými se sociální pedagog může ve své práci setkat. Z literární rešerše lze identifkovat různé druhy a úrovně stresu, postupy zvládání stresových situací a také popisuje příčiny stresu a jejich dopad na sociální pedagogy. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jaké copingové strategie používají sociální pedagogové. Dílčí cíle se zaměřují na rozdíly při volbě copingových strategií podle pohlaví, věku, rodinného stavu a délky praxe. Výzkumná data jsou zjišťována pomocí kvantitativního výzkumu u vzorku 57 respondentů. Tento výzkum je realizován prostřednictvím dotazníku SVF 78, který standardizuje copingové strategie na pozitivní a negativní. Analýzou dat bylo zjištěno, že mezi nejčastější užívané copingové strategie patří pozitivní strategie "Kontrola situace". U všech stanovených kategorií respondentů byly prokázány rozdílné copingové strategie, přesto ani u jedné nebylo prokázáno značné vychýlení oproti národnímu průměru. V závěru práce jsou uvedena opatření směřující ke zvládání a prevenci vzniku stresových situací.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on stressful situations that social pedagogues may encounter in their work. From the literature review, it is possible to identify different types and levels of stress, procedures for coping with stressful situations, and also describes the causes of stress and their impact on social pedagogues. The aim of this work is to find out what coping strategies are used by social pedagogues. Sub-objectives focus on differences in the choice of coping strategies according to gender, age, marital status and length of practice. Research data is obtained using quantitative research with a sample of 57 respondents. This research is implemented through the SVF 78 questionnaire, which standardizes coping strategies into positive and negative. The analysis of the data revealed that the positive strategy "Control of the situation" is among the most frequently used coping strategies. Different coping strategies were demonstrated for all established categories of respondents, yet not a single one showed a significant deviation from the national average. At the end of the thesis, measures aimed at managing and preventing the occurrence of stressful situations are presented.
