Re-centralization of the urban space

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce je recentralizace ve funkční struktuře města. Pozornost je věnována především transformaci města s historicky zřetelně vyjádřeným centrem funkcí. V teoretické části se práce nejdříve zaměřuje na obecné projevy centrality v geografii, na které navazuje zúženým pohledem na problematiku funkčních center v rámci geografie města. Diskutovány jsou jak modely funkčního uspořádání, tak historické souvislosti vývoje měst. Navržena je také metodika identifikace a verifikace center, která vychází geolokalizačních dat a mapy využití území. V empirické části jsou pak popsány recentralizované oblasti v prostoru Brna.

Abstract:

The theme of this thesis is re-centralization in the functional structure of the city. Attention is paid to the transformation of the historic center with the clearly expressed features. The theoretical part the work initially focused on the general expressions of centrality in geography, which is followed by narrow view on the issue of functional centers within the geography of the city. There is discussed models of functional layout and historical context of urban development. In the thesis is also proposed a methodology for identification and verification centers, which is based on geolocalisation datas and maps of land use. In the empirical part are described recentralized areas in Brno.
