The exploration of lighting's impact on character development in films offers a comprehensive analysis of how visual elements shape audience perception and emotional engagement across different genres. This thesis examines the collaborative dynamics between directors and cinematographers in their strategic use of lighting, demonstrating how these choices enhance the narrative depth and psychological complexity of characters. Through a detailed comparative analysis of "Gangubai Kathiawadi," "The Painted Bird," and "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," the study reveals the distinct approaches to lighting.

Abstract:

Průzkum vlivu osvětlení na rozvoj postav ve filmech nabízí komplexní analýzu toho, jak vizuální prvky formují vnímání a emoční zapojení diváků napříč různými žánry. Tato práce zkoumá spolupráci mezi režiséry a kameramany v jejich strategickém využití osvětlení, čímž demonstruje, jak tyto volby zvyšují narativní hloubku a psychologickou složitost postav. Prostřednictvím podrobné komparativní analýzy filmů "Gangubai Kathiawadi," "The Painted Bird," a "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, studie odhaluje rozdílné přístupy k osvětlení.
