Possibility of application of treated sewage sludge to the soil

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se v teoretické části zabývá možností aplikace upraveného čistírenského kalu na zemědělskou půdu. Posuzuje potencionální rizika a omezení aplikace upravených čistírenských kalů na půdu a věnuje se problematice legislativních opatření, které se týkají zpracování čistírenských kalů. Praktická část diplomové práce se věnuje realizaci laboratorního nádobového experimentu s dvěma různými dávkami organického hnojiva KSP (zkratka hnojiva pochází z počátečních písmen hlavních organických materiálů, ze kterých je hnojivo vyrobeno kal, sláma, popel) vyrobeného z čistírenského kalu, a to buď s přítomností, nebo absencí modelových rostlin. Při laboratorním nádobovém pokusu byly sledovány parametry nadzemní a podzemní produkce biomasy pokusných rostlin a úniky minerálních živin dusíku a fosforu. Z výsledků naměřených hodnot sušin produkce biomasy vyplývá, že organické hnojivo KSP má kladný vliv na produkci rostlinné biomasy. Minerální dusík a fosfor jsou z organického hnojiva KSP postupně uvolňovány společně s celou paletou potřebných biogenních a stopových prvků navíc v optimálním vzájemném poměru.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals in the theoretical part with the possibility of application treated sewage sludge to agricultural land. It assesses the potential risks and limitations of the application of treated sewage sludge to the soil and addresses the issue of legislative measures related to the treatment of sewage sludge. The practical part of the diploma thesis is devoted to the implementation of a laboratory container experiment with two different doses of organic fertilizer KSP (abbreviation of fertilizer comes from the initial letters of the main organic materials from which the fertilizer is made sludge, straw, ash) made from sewage sludge, either in the presence, or the absence of model plants. During the laboratory vessel experiment, the parameters of above-ground and underground biomass production of experimental plants and releases of mineral nutrients nitrogen and phosphorus were monitored. The results of the measured values of dry matter of biomass production show that the organic fertilizer KSP has a positive effect on the production of plant biomass. Mineral nitrogen and phosphorus are gradually released from the organic fertilizer KSP together with the whole range of necessary biogenic and trace elements in addition in an optimal mutual ratio.
