Use of hyperspectral Remote Sensing in Urban Area

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá testováním různých kombinací dat (hyperspektrální, lidarová, NDVI) a následné testování klasifikačních algoritmů pro tři území nacházející se ve městě Brno. V rámci klasifikací byl povrch v městském prostředí rozdělen do určitých tříd znázorňující složky vegetace a ostatní povrchy. Mezi nejlepší výsledky, co se klasifikací týče, patří Maximum Likelihood a Neural Net, a naopak nejhůře dopadla Spectral Angle Mapper. Cílem poslední části práce bylo detekovat změnu povrchu v čase pomocí různých metod, kdy se jako nejschůdnější jeví použití rozdílu pomocí NDVI.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with testing various combinations of data (such as hyperspectral, LiDAR and NDVI) and subsequent application of classifications. Testing took place in three areas located in Brno. For classification purposes, the surface was divided into classes showing certain components of vegetation and other surfaces. The best results were achieved by the Maximum Likelihood and Neural Net classification. On the other hand, the Spectal Angle Mapper classification had the worst results. The purpose of the last part of thesis was to detect the change in surface over time using various methods. The most feasible method for this is to use the NDVI difference.
