The Chrysanthemum and the beer: compatison of Japanese and Czech cultural patterns

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na Japonce, kteří odcestovali ze své domoviny a trvale či dočasně žijí na území České republiky. V metodologické části je popsán průběh výzkumu, popis tématu a strategie kvalitativního výzkumu, etika výzkumu a krátká rešerše nejdůležitějších využitých publikací. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy, jakými jsou kultura, multikulturalismus, identita, národní identita. Také jsou zde blíže specifikovány teoretické koncepty, jako je koncept habitu redefinovaný Pierrem Bourdiem či koncept "My" a "Oni". Další součástí práce je nastínění japonské historie, kultury a národní povahy.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on Japanese people who have traveled from their homelands and live permanently or temporarily in the Czech Republic. The methodological part describes ongoing research, a description of the topic and strategy of qualitative research, research ethics and a short search of the most important usable publications. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts such as culture, multiculturalism, identity, national identity. Theoretical concepts are also specified here, such as the concept of habit redefined by Pierre Bourdio or the concept of "We" and "They". Another part of the work is an outline of Japanese history, culture and national character.
