Buněčná senescence je komplexní proces, který hraje významnou roli ve stárnutí organismu a je doprovázen funkčními i morfologickými změnami buněk. Tento jev je charakterizován ztrátou schopnosti buněčného dělení, což je označováno jako Hayflickův limit.
