Psychotherapist Development Towards Psychotherapy Integration: Forming a Personal Therapeutic Approach

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá tématem vývoje psychoterapeutů směrem k integraci v psychoterapii. Její teoretická část se zaměřuje na témata integrace v psychoterapii (historie integrativního hnutí, formy integrace, klady a limity integrativní pozice, aj.) a profesního vývoje psychoterapeutů (proměnné, stádia a témata vývoje psychoterapeutů, volba teoretické orientace a vývoj psychoterapeutů směrem k integraci v psychoterapii). Výzkumná část rigorózní práce staví na metodologii zakotvené teorie. Výsledkem analýzy rozhovorů s předními českými psychoterapeuty, kteří sami sebe považují za integrativní, je jednak model profesního vývoje lektorů Výcviku integrace v psychoterapii ve vztahu k integraci v psychoterapii, jednak model utváření osobního terapeutického přístupu psychoterapeutů. Kategorie modelů jsou v rigorózní práci popsány v kontextu vzájemných vztahů a jejich popisy jsou doplněny citacemi z dat. Výzkumná zjištění jsou posléze diskutována v kontextu současné odborné literatury zabývající se tématem profesního vývoje psychoterapeutů.

Abstract:

The presented thesis concerns the topic of psychotherapist professional development towards psychotherapy integration. Its theoretical part focuses on psychotherapy integration (history of integrationist movement, forms of integration, strengths and limitations of integrative position etc.) and psychotherapist professional development (variables, stages and topics of psychotherapist development, choice of theoretical orientation, and psychotherapist development towards psychotherapy integration). The research itself is based on grounded theory methodology. Interviews with prominent Czech psychotherapists who consider themselves integrative have been analyzed and the results are presented in form of 1, a model of Training in psychotherapy integration trainers’ development in relation to psychotherapy integration, and 2, a model of forming a personal therapeutic approach. Categories of both the models are presented in context of their interrelations and their descriptions are exemplified by citations of the data. Research findings are discussed in the context of recent literature on the topic of psychotherapist development.
