Validation of a business model using the Design Sprint framework

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou aplikace nástrojů a postupů metodologie Lean Startup na konkrétní projekt. V teoretické části je metodologie Lean Startup definována a podrobně jsou popsány její klíčové prvky. Pro pochopení kontextu jsou zmíněny i předcházející přístupy k řízení začínajících projektů. Dále jsou detailně rozpracovány nástroje Lean Canvas a Design Sprint, jejichž aplikace na konkrétní projekt je náplní praktické části. Dílčím cílem práce je sestavení Lean Canvas projektu, který je dále využit jako výchozí dokument pro naplnění hlavního cíle. Hlavním cílem práce je pomocí procesního rámce Design Sprint rozhodnout o validitě zvoleného business modelu vzhledem k cílové skupině zákazníků. Výsledkem práce je potvrzení validity business modelu a zisk objektivní zpětné vazby od potenciálních zákazníků ještě před uvedením produktu na trh.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis examines the field of Lean Startup methodology and its application on a specific project. In the theoretical part, the main focus lies on defining the key principles of the Lean Startup methodology. For further context understanding, previous theories of managing starting projects are mentioned and described. The second part of this section is dedicated to comprehensive explanation of Lean Canvas model and mainly the Design Sprint framework. The practical part starts with a brief description of the project GBTR and a definition of its business model in a form of the one-page Lean Canvas. The main goal of the thesis is validation of the previously defined business model using the Design Sprint framework. Based on the testing by group of potential customers conducted within the framework, the business model is validated and valuable feedback is gathered prior to the first launch onto the market.
