The social capital and its signification in relation to functioning of entrepreneurial subjects

Abstract:

V souvislosti s ekonomickými změnami po roce 1989 došlo v naší republice k významnému rozvoji soukromého podnikání. V popředí zájmu jak malých živnostníků, tak velkých firem o několika tisících zaměstnanců je ekonomická prosperita jejich společnosti. Jedním z mnoha faktorů ovlivňujících výsledek podnikání je i sociální kapitál. Po nastínění základních směrů pojetí sociálního kapitálu a zmínění dalších faktorů, které spolupůsobí na cestě za dosažením cíle podnikání, byli osloveni jednotliví podnikatelé (tři muži a dvě ženy) za účelem posouzení významu sociálního kapitálu ve vztahu k fungování podnikatelských subjektů. Na základě rozhovorů, bylo zjišťováno rodinné zázemí jednotlivých respondentů, obor a rozsah jejich podnikání, strukturu a objem sociálních kontaktů. Získané informace jsou použity k posouzení rozsahu sociálního kapitálu podnikatelského subjektu, míry jeho využití a jeho přínosu pro dosažení podnikatelského úspěchu.

Abstract:

In connection with economic changes after the year 1989 a significant growth of private enterprising can be observed. Both small private entrepreneurs and large companies with thousands of employees center themselves on the economic prosperity of their companies. One of many elements which affect the result of their business is the social capital. After foreshadowing the basic lines of conception of the social capital and mentioning other elements which can influence the business success, I spoke to particular entrepreneurs (three men and two women) in order to review the importance of their social capital in connection with their business. Based on interviews, following data were collected: family background, area and scope of their business, structure and volume of their social contacts. I used the data to judge the range of the social capital of the particular business units and its contribution to the business success.
