Teaching the subject of dental hygiene at high schools and universities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce "Výuka předmětu dentální hygiena na VOŠ a VŠ" se zabývá profesí dentální hygiena (nebo dentální hygienistka), a to jejím studiem, charakteristikou a odbornými kompetencemi. V diplomové práci je popsáno, kdo je dentální hygienistka a jaké činnosti vykonává. Dále je popsáno, jak probíhá výuka tohoto oboru, potažmo předmětu na českých VOŠ a VŠ a jaké výukové formy a metody mohou být při výuce využívány. Práce obsahuje výzkumné šetření, které se zabývá především výukou problematických a pro studenty náročných témat předmětu dentální hygiena. Výzkumné šetření zjišťuje, jaká témata jsou pro studenty náročná, pomocí jakých výukových metod a forem je vyučující studentům předkládají, a jak jsou studenti s výukou spokojeni. Důležitou součástí diplomové práce je návrh řešení problematiky a doporučení do dnešní praxe vyučování předmětu dentální hygiena.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis "Teaching dental hygiene at high schools and universities" deals with the profession of dental hygiene (or dental hygienist), namely its study, characteristics and professional competencies. Diploma thesis describes who dental hygienist is and what activities she performs. It also describes how teaching of this branch or else the subject takes place at Czech high schools and universities, and what teaching forms and methods can be used during the classes. The thesis contains a research, which deals especially with the teaching of problematic and challenging topics for students of the subject of dental hygiene. The research investigates which topics are challenging for the students, what teaching methods and forms teachers use to present these topics to the students, and how the students are satisfied with the teaching. An important part of the diploma thesis is a proposal for solving the problem and recommendations for today's practice of teaching the subject of dental hygiene.
