Regressive-left and Islam

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá politickým pojmem regresivní levice a jejím vztahem k islámu, převážně v jeho politické podobě. Práce se snaží prozkoumat původ termínu regresivní levice a původ jevů, které tento termín doprovázejí, ve společensko-politickém prostředí západní Evropy 70. let, a v multikulturním prostředí západních univerzit 90. let. Také se snaží ukázat, jak regresivní levice umožňuje pronikání islamistických myšlenek do politického a společenského prostoru západních zemí, jak potlačuje svobodu projevu, a jak tento vývoj společnost negativně ovlivňuje.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the political concept of Regressive Left and its relation to Islam, especially in its political form. It attempts to explore origins of the term Regressive Left and origins of the features accompanying this term, in the socio-polititical environment of the western Europe in the 70s and in the multicultural enviroment of western universities in the 90s. It also tries to show, how Regressive Left enables penetration of islamistic ideas into the political and social space of the western countries, how it tries to repress free speech, and how this development negatively affects society.
