Event Marketing: Proposed PR Communication Strategy for the Das Filmfest Film Festival by Goethe-Institut

Abstract:

Diplomová práce práce "Event marketing: Návrh PR komunikace pro filmový festival Das Filmfest pořádaný Goethe-Institutem" se zabývá komunikací a eventama filmového festivalu Das Filmfest pořádaným Goethe-Institutem, který bojuje o rozšíření německy mluvících filmů v České republice. Praktická část práce analyzuje hloubkové rozhovory s organizátory filmového festivalu, analýzou SEO webových stránek a analýzou bývalé komunikace filmového festivalu. Praktická část zahrnuje analýzu hloubkových rozhovorů s organizátory festivalu, SEO analýzu webové prezentace a podrobnou mediální analýzu komunikace v tradičních a digitálních médiích. Výsledky ukazují, že festival má stabilní mediální pokrytí, avšak chybí mu dlouhodobá PR strategie a doprovodné eventy, které by mohly posílit jeho kulturní význam a přilákat širší publikum. Klíčová doporučení zahrnují rozšíření PR aktivit na celoroční strategii, posílení interaktivity na sociálních sítích, zavedení doprovodných akcí (např. Industry Day, Film & Brunch). Implementací těchto opatření může Das Filmfest zvýšit svou prestiž a mediální dosah, čímž se stane ještě významnější platformou pro propagaci německy mluvené kinematografie.

Abstract:

The thesis "Event Marketing: PR Communication Proposal for the Film Festival Das Filmfest organized by the Goethe-Institut" deals with the communication and events of the film festival Das Filmfest organized by the Goethe-Institut, which is fighting for the spread of German-language films in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the thesis analyses in-depth interviews with the organisers of the film festival, an SEO analysis of the website and an analysis of the former communication of the film festival. The practical part includes an analysis of in-depth interviews with the festival organizers, an SEO analysis of the website and a detailed media analysis of the communication in traditional and digital media. The results show that the festival has a stable media coverage, but lacks a long-term PR strategy and accompanying events that could strengthen its cultural relevance and attract a wider audience. Key recommendations include expanding PR activities to a year-round strategy, strengthening social media interactivity, and introducing side events (e.g. Industry Day, Film & Brunch). By implementing these measures, Das Filmfest can increase its prestige and media reach, making it an even more important platform for promoting German- language cinema.
