Analysis of gender pay gaps and their impact on old-age pension.

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je analyzovat genderové mzdové rozdíly a jejich primární vliv na výši starobního důchodu. Nejprve jsou vyhodnoceny analýzy generových mzdových rozdílů, aby mohlo dojít ke zhodnocení, jak ovlivňují výši starobního důchodu v ČR. V teoretické části jsou za pomocí ukazatele gender pay gap a ukazatele gender gap in pensions porovnány i se státy Evropské Unie. K zjištění genderových rozdílů ve starobním důchodu v ČR byl proveden kvantitativní výzkum za pomocí čtyř vzorových příkladů výpočtu starobních důchodů s nárokem v roce 2022 z hlediska rovnosti mužů a žen. Následně bylo použito i zhodnocení starobního důchodu s tzn. výchovným, které je platné od 1. 1. 2023, a odpovězeno na otázku, zda dojde ke snížení genderové důchodové nerovnosti. Pro výzkum byla využita právní legislativa a data z Českého statistického úřadu, České správy sociálního zabezpečení a Eurostatu. Ke čtyřem vzorovým příkladům byla převzata data o průměrných měsíčních výdělcích a k výpočtu byl použit vzorec pro výpočet starobního důchodu v ČR. Hlavním přínosem diplomové práce je poukázání na genderové mzdové a důchodové nerovnosti v ČR a její další možné využití k nové důchodové reformě.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to analyze gender wage differences and their primary influence on the amount of retirement pension. First, analysis of gender wage differences are evaluated in order to evaluate how they affect the amount of the old-age pension in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part, with the help of the gender pay gap indicator and the gender gap pensions indicator, they are also compared with the countries of the European Union. To find out gender differences in old-age pensions in the Czech Republic, quantitative research was carried out using four sample examples of calculating old-age pensions with entitlement in 2022 from the point of view of equality between men and women. Subsequently, the evaluation of the old-age pension was also used with, so called, educational pension, which is valid from 1 January 2023, and answered the question of whether there will be a reduction in gender pension inequality. Legal legislation and data from the Czech Statistical Office, the Czech Social Security Administration and Eurostat were used for the research. Data on average monthly earnings were taken for the four sample examples, and the formula for calculating the old-age pension in the Czech Republic was used for the calculation. The main contribution of the thesis is pointing out the gender wage and pension inequality in the Czech Republic and its further possible use for the new pension reform.
