Governance in Norway and Sweden: Have single-party minority governments come to an end?

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku vládnutí v Norsku a Švédsku od konce 90. let 20. stol. do současnosti. Vládnutí zkoumá práce ve dvou dimenzích – jednak v rovině ústavního rámce vládnutí, jednak v rovině stranické podoby vlád od přelomu tisíciletí, čemuž odpovídá i členění textu. Vedle charakteristiky institucionální roviny vztahu exekutivy a legislativy v Norsku a Švédsku a analýzy jednotlivých vlád od konce 90. let 20. stol., se práce snaží nalézt odpověď na otázku, z jaké příčiny došlo ve vymezeném období k úpadku jednobarevných menšinových vlád.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with governance in Norway and Sweden since the late 90s till nowadays. The thesis examines governance in two dimensions – on the one hand there is the constitutional basis of governance and on the other hand there are governments and political parties involved in them since the turn of the millennium. Whole text is divided in accordance with the aforesaid scheme. There are three aims of the thesis: 1) to characterise institutional level of executive-legislative relationship in Norway and Sweden; 2) to analyse individual governments since the late 90s and 3) to find out the reason why single-party minority governments decline in specified period.
