Barmese migrants - it´s easy to adapt to life of ordinary citizens of the Czech Republic?

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o integraci barmských přistěhovalců do České republiky. Ti zde získali azyl a nový domov v rámci Přesídlovacího programu, do kterého se Česká republika zapojila. Integrace je těžký a zdlouhavý proces sám o sobě, zvláště když jste vytrženi ze svého domova a kultury a musíte začít nový život v cizí zemi. Světlou stránkou na tomto procesu je, že ten jejich nový život bude důstojnější, bez hrozby vězení pronásledování Vojenskou juntou. Práce je především soustředěna na sociální integraci těchto azylantů, zapojení do běžného života v naší republice, dále na instituce, které jim pomáhají a způsoby jak jim poskytují pomoc pro snadnější začlenění. Teoretická část je aplikována na imigraci a její formy, imigrační politiku ČR, dále na Přesídlovací projekt Ministerstva vnitra, na imigraci a její dimenze a imigrační politiku ČR. Závěr teoretické části je zaměřen na Barmské centrum Praha, které zprostředkovává tlumočnické služby a úzce spolupracuje s Ministerstvem vnitra. Praktická část umožní vstoupit do této problematiky z pohledu samotných azylantů pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a časosběrného dokumentu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with Burmese immigrant?s integration into the Czech Republic. These people obtained asylum and new home under the Resettlement Programme in which the Czech Republic has participated. The integration is a difficult and lengthy process for its own sake, especially if you are uprooted out of your home and culture and you have to start a new life in a foreign country. The redeeming feature of this process is that their new lives will be more dignified, without any threats such as prison or persecution by the military junta. The thesis mainly focuses on social integration of these asylum seekers and their involvement in everyday life in our country. As well it mentions key institutions which help them and ways how to make their integration as easy as possible. The theoretical part is applied on immigration and its forms, the Czech Republic immigration policy, the Ministry of the Interior Resettlement Project, immigration dimensions and the Czech Republic integration policy. The final section of the theoretical part is concentrated on the Burmese Centre Prague which arranges interpretation services and closely cooperates with the Ministry of the Interior. The practical part enables to enter the problems from the refugees´ own point of view by means of semi-structured interview and a documentary collected during longer period of time.
