The effect of change in value and the axis of astigmatism on visual performance at the different visual distances

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá popisem a porovnáním současných možností korekce refrakčních vad pomocí brýlových čoček. Při pohledu pacienta přes brýlovou čočku nacházíme ideální zobrazení pouze v jejím optickém středu. Při stranových pohledech již začnou působit vady optického zobrazování, které degradují uživateli brýlí sítnicový obraz a redukují zorné pole. Hlavní účel stále nově se vyvíjejících designů brýlových čoček je maximálně potlačit zmiňované optické vady zobrazení při pohledu mimo optický střed. V souvislosti s tím se na trhu objevily asférické designy, které by díky svému dokonalému tvaru měly poskytovat výborné zobrazovací vlastnosti. Diplomová práce shrnuje současný přehled designů brýlových čoček od historicky nejběžnějších sférických tvarů až po tzv. brýlové čočky „šité na míru“. Otázkou, zda klienti vnímají rozdíl v kvalitě vidění s asférickými oproti sférickým brýlovým čočkám, se zabývá výzkumná část této práce.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the description and comparison of current possibilities of correction of refractive errors by using spectacle lenses. When the patient looks through the spectacle lenses, we find an ideal optical performance just in the optical center of lenses. Optical aberrations that are degrading the retinal image and reduce the field of view are caused by peripheral views. The main purpose of the ever-evolving spectacle lenses designs is to suppress these optical aberrations during the view outside the lens optical center. According to, aspheric designs appeared on the market, which, due to their perfect shape, should provide excellent imaging properties. This diploma thesis summarizes the current overview of spectacle lenses designs from the most common spherical shapes to the individual spectacle lenses. The question of whether clients perceive the difference in the quality of vision with aspheric compared to spherical lenses is the main topic in the research part of this work.
