Sovereign bond market analysis: the Czech Republic vs. Germany

Abstract:

Předmětem této bakalářské práce je analýza českého a německého trhu státních dluhopisů. První část představuje obecnou charakteristiku klíčových pojmů z oblasti dluhopisů a detailně popisuje jejich vlastnosti. Druhá část se věnuje identifikaci rizik spojených s investicemi do dluhopisů a dalšími faktory ovlivňující investory. Následující analytická část zkoumá primární a sekundární trhy státních dluhopisů, role primárních dealerů a jejich hodnocení, a také procesy aukcí státních dluhopisů v České republice a Německu. Čtvrtá část se zabývá vývojem státního dluhu v obou zemích, průměrnými dobami splatnosti státních dluhopisů a celkovými počty emisí v letech. Nakonec je provedena analýza současných trhů z pohledu likvidity (doby splatnosti), výnosových křivek či ratingového ohodnocení. V závěru jsou prezentovány výsledky analýzy, které přináší nové poznatky o struktuře a chování trhů státních dluhopisů v České republice a Německu, a poskytují užitečné informace o dané problematice.

Abstract:

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the analysis of the Czech and German government bond markets. The first part presents a general description of the key concepts in the field of bonds and describes their characteristics in detail. The second part focuses on identifying the risks associated with bond investments and other factors affectinginvestors. The following analytical section examines the primary and secondary markets for government bonds, the role of primary dealers and their valuation, and the processes of government bond auctions in the Czech Republic and Germany. The fourth part examines the evolution of government debt in both countries, the average maturity of government bonds and the total number of issues in years, and finally analyses the current markets in terms of liquidity (maturity), yield curves or rating valuations. Finally, the results of the analysis are presented, which provide new insights into the structure and behaviour of the government bond markets in the Czech Republic and Germany and provide useful information on the subject.
