Czech paganism

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je pokusit se popsat pohanství na našem území za použití komparace k dalším slovanským národům. Práce začíná představením Slovanů z historického a etymologického hlediska vývoje. Před hlavní částí se zabývá zachovalými literárními prameny. V hlavní části práce se klade důraz na popis mytických bytostí, jako jsou duchové a démoni. Práce pokračuje popisem hlavních bohů, známých většině Slovanů a také bohy lokálního charakteru. V další části je popsána magie a rituály starých Slovanů. Dále jsou prozkoumány události související s koncem pohanství na českém území. Poslední část práce je věnována českému pohanství 21. století. V průběhu práce je podáván popis a srovnání Slovanských představ o jejich duchovním životě.

Abstract:

The main goal of this work is an attempt to describe paganism on our territory using a comparison to another Slavic nations. Work begin introducing Slavs from historical and etymologic terms of development. Before the main part of the work it is dealing with old literary sources. In the main part of the work there is emphasis on describing mythical creatures such as spirits and demons. Work continue with description of the main gods known to the majority of Slavs and also with gods of the local status. In the next part is described magic and rituals of the old Slavs. Further explorered are events related to the end of paganism on the Czech territory. Last part of the job is dedicated Czech paganism of the 21. century. During the work is giving description and comparison Slavic ideas about their spiritual life.
