The Czechoslovak Church in Ostrava in 1948-1956
Abstract:
Tato práce pojednává o Církvi československé v nových politických podmínkách v období počátků komunistického režimu v letech 1948-1956. Soustředí se zejména na situaci církve v ostravské diecézi, konkrétně problémy při biskupské volbě a spory mezi Rudolfem Horským a Otakarem Stružem. Práce ukazuje život církve pod dohledem státních církevních tajemníků.
Abstract:
This thesis deals with The Czechoslovak Church under the new political circumstances at the begining of the communist régime in 1948-1956. The thesis focuses on situation of the church in the Diocese of Ostrava, specificly problems with the bishop election and conflict between Rudolf Horský and Otakar Struž. The thesis presents life of the church under control of the state church secretaries.
