Africa as the european energy provider of the future

Abstract:

Afrika je pro své nerostné bohatství kontinent významný zejména svou těžbou a exportem ropy a zemního plynu. Další vidinou pro příliv investic do rozvojové Afriky je elektřina získaná prostřednictvím obnovitelných zdrojů energie, pro které má africký kontinent díky svému klimatu a přírodním podmínkám poměrně vysoký potenciál. Hlavním problémem jsou v tomto případě finance, které africkému kontinentu chybí. Spolupráce se členskými zeměmi EU má za cíl poskytnout investice pro vybudování zejména obnovitelných energetických zdrojů, které by pro Afriku znamenaly hospodářský růst a zlepšení celkové sociální situace. Krom investic do realizace energetických projektů by další evropské finance přinášel zejména africký export elektrické energie do energeticky nesoběstačné Evropy. Tato spolupráce je z mého pohledu velmi perspektivní a pro oba kontinenty bude znamenat zejména možný energetický pokrok a zvýšení energetické bezpečnosti, která je v době, kdy si státy začínají uvědomovat vyčerpatelnost fosilních paliv, velmi důležitá. Jako podstatný problém v tomto případě vidím nestabilitu afrického kontinentu, kde si jako energetický odběratel nemůžeme být stoprocentně jisti spolehlivými dodávkami a můžeme jen doufat, že příliv evropských peněz bude pro Afričany natolik inspirující a podstatný, že se zaslouží o spolehlivost, o které v současné době rozhodně nemůžeme mluvit v souvislosti energetické spolupráce s Ruskou federací. Teprve čas ukáže, zda-li je tato diverzifikace energetických zdrojů možná či ne.

Abstract:

Africa is a continent known for its mineral wealth especially for extraction and exports of petroleum and natural gas. Another spectre for investment inflow into this poor continent is electricity generated through renewable energy sources, for which the African continent has a relatively high potential thanks to its climate and natural conditions. The main problem in this case is the money, which is missing in Africa. Cooperation with EU member states is intended to provide investment for renewable energy sources in particular. That will lead to an economic growth and an improvement of the overall social situation. Aside from investing into energy projects, the African exports of electric energy in the European market will bring European money. From my point of view, this cooperation is very promising for both continents and in particular about the potential energy progress and energy security improvement, which is very important today because states start to realize the coming end of the fossil fuels. I see that instability in Africa is a substantial problem, because as clients we cannot be really sure to be correctly supplied. We can only hope that the inflow of European money will be helpful and important for Africans and allow them to earn the reliability which is missing in the context of energy cooperation with the Russian Federation. Only time will tell us if this diversification in energy sources is possible or not.
