Games and unconventional exercises in mathematics at primary school

Abstract:

Představená práce je zaměřena na analýzu skutečného stavu zájmu žáků 1. stupně ZŠ o matematiku, efektivitu vhodných didaktických her využívaných v hodinách matematiky, frekvence realizace této didaktické metody a pomůcek ze stran pedagogů v rámci praktického uplatnění. Teoretické hledisko pojímá terminologii oblastí tvořivého a efektivního vyučování, didaktických her, motivací žáků a profesní osobnosti pedagoga působícího v matematickém oboru. Praktická část zahrnuje poznatky z podrobné diagnostiky respondentů představujících žáky 5. tříd ZŠ a jejich učitelů. Analýza vyhotovená z tematicky zaměřených dotazníků předkládá mnohá zjištění, která jsou současně komentována. Závěr praktické oblasti náleží konfrontaci mezi skutečností uplatňované soudobými pedagogy a mezi výukovými představami žáků prvního stupně ZŠ. Cílem je zkvalitnit výuku matematických disciplín v primárním školství, vzbudit zájem žáků o tento vědní obor, rozvíjet jejich matematické schopnosti, demonstrovat tyto znalosti a dovednosti v praktickém životě dítěte.

Abstract:

The presented work focuses on an analysis of the real state of interests in mathematics that pupils at primary school have, efficiency of suitable didactic games used in mathematics lessons, a frequency of this didactic method realisation and aids at the part of pedagogues within practical application. The theoretic aspect conceives terminology of the areas of creative and effective education, didactic games, pupils motivation and a professional personality of the pedagogue acting in mathematics specialisation. The practical part includes findings from detailed diagnostic of respondents representing pupils from 5. grade at primary schools and their teachers. The analysis given from thematically oriented questionnaires assumes a lot of conclusions, which are at the time commented. The end of the practical part belongs to the confrontation between the reality applied by current pedagogues and educational ideas of primary school pupils. The aim is to make the education at primary school better quality, pique pupils´ interest in this discipline, develop their mathematical abilities, illustrate this knowledge and skills in a child´s practical life.
