The major histocompatibility complex (Mhc) is a complex genetic region, containing many genes with various functions. Although Mhc was first identified as an important transplantation factor, later its role in presentation of antigenic peptides to the immune system was revealed. Hlavný histokompatibilitný komplex (Mhc) je komplexný región, zahrňujúci množstvo génov s rozličnými funkciami. Mhc bol síce najprv určený ako dôležitý transplantačný faktor, ale neskôr bola zistená jeho úloha v prezentácii antigénnych peptidov imunitnému systému.
