Monetary reforms in Czech history

Abstract:

Diplomová práce mapuje vývoj platebního styku na našem území a soustředí se v tomto kontextu na měnové reformy. Je dělena na tři kapitoly - první teoretickou a další dvě historické. První kapitola popisuje teoretické vymezení práce - problematiku peněz, měny, měnových reforem a měnové politiky, stejně jako na terminologii, která je zásadní pro další části práce. Druhá kapitola se pak věnuje samotným měnovým reformám a drobnějším měnovým opatřením, stejně jako vývoji platebního styku, od circa 5. století před naším letopočtem až do počátku platnosti Rakousko- Uherské koruny. Třetí část pak navazuje na druhou od rozpadu Rakouska-Uherska a cílí na čtyři hlavní měnové události novodobé české (československé) historie - měnové reformy z let 1919, 1945, 1953 a měnovou odluku z roku 1993. Závěrem pak ještě v krátkosti nastiňuje možný budoucí vývoj naší měny, tedy problematiku eura.

Abstract:

The diploma theses maps the development of payments in our area and it focuses on the topic of monetary reforms. It is divided into three main parts chapters, the first one being theoretical, the other two historical. The first chapter covers the theoretical problematics of money, currency, monetary reforms and monetary politics as well as the needed vocabulary. The second chapter maps the development of payment within our borders from aproximately the 5th century B.C. and it goes on up to the last days of the World War I. The third and final chapter of the theses covers the main monetary events of our modern history - monetary reforms of 1919, 1945, 1953 and 1993. At the end, it briefly foreshadows the promblematics of the possible future developement - euro.
