Use of video records in teaching chemical nomenclature of inorganic compounds, with regard to the needs of pupils with dyslexia

Abstract:

Diplomová práce navazuje na bakalářskou práci „Využití videozáznamů ve výuce chemického názvosloví“. V rámci zmíněné bakalářské práce byla, mimo jiné, vytvořena videa týkající se chemického názvosloví anorganické chemie (Měcháčková, 2019). Teoretická část předkládané diplomové práce shrnuje dostupné informace o jedné ze specifických poruch učení – dyslexii. Dále byl v této práci věnován prostor výzkumům prováděným na žácích s diagnostikovanou dyslexií ve výuce chemie. Na základě zjištěných poznatků byly formulovány faktory, které by žáci mohli ve vytvořených videích a webových stránkách hodnotit kladně a přivítat je jako nápomocné. Praktická část této diplomové práce shrnuje videa týkající se chemického názvosloví anorganické chemie vytvořená jinými autory, která jsou dostupná žákům na YouTube. V tomto shrnutí popisuje, jakým způsobem dochází v jednotlivých videích k vysvětlování daného chemického názvosloví anorganické chemie. Následně byly vytvořeny webové stránky tak, aby se z nich dalo jednoduše přejít na mnou vytvořená videa na YouTube a aby měli žáci všechna vytvořená videa pohromadě a snadno je dokázali najít a orientovat se v nich. V rámci této diplomové práce bylo zjišťováno od žáků s dyslexií pomocí rozhovorů, co jim na vytvořených videích a webových stránkách vadí a není pro ně vhodné, a co by naopak uvítali. Toto šetření bylo prováděno s cílem následně videa a vytvořené webové stránky podle těchto připomínek opravit a vylepšit tak, aby byla vhodná právě i pro žáky s dyslexií.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis follows up on the bachelor's thesis „The use of video recordings in the teaching of chemical nomenclature“. As part of this bachelor's thesis, videos related to the chemical nomenclature of inorganic chemistry were created, among other things (Měcháčková, 2019). The theoretical part of the presented diploma thesis summarizes the available information about a specific reading disorder – dyslexia. Furthermore, space was devoted to research conducted on students diagnosed with dyslexia in the teaching of chemistry. Based on the findings, factors were formulated that students could evaluate positively in the created videos and websites and welcome them as helpful. The practical part of this diploma thesis summarizes videos related to the chemical nomenclature of inorganic chemistry, which are available to students on YouTube. In this summary, it is described how the individual chemical nomenclature of inorganic chemistry is explained in the individual videos. Subsequently, websites were created so that it was easy to access the created videos on YouTube, and in addition so that students have all the created videos together and can easily find and orient themselves in them. In the framework of this diploma thesis, it was ascertained from pupils with dyslexia, by the form of interviews, what bothers them on the created videos and websites and what is not suitable for them, and on the contrary, what they would welcome. This survey was carried out with the aim of subsequently correcting and improving the videos and websites created in accordance with these comments, so that they were also suitable for pupils with dyslexia.
