Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje zejména na problematiku překladu dětské literatury, konkrétně pak na dílo Winnie-the-Pooh A. A. Milna. Práce má několik rovin: porovnávání dvou existujících českých překladů (Zdena Mathesiová, Hana Skoumalová), historický vývoj textu Hany Skoumalové (od prvního vydání z roku 1938 do současnosti) a širší kulturní vliv díla samotného, ale i dalších knih, které z něj částečně čerpají nebo používají alespoň jeho hlavní postavu jako centrální motiv. Z konkrétních překladových témat se práce zabývá například problémy spojenými s gramatickou, lexikální a textovou ekvivalencí, překladem jmen a pořádkem slov ve větě. Poměrně značná část textu je také věnována tématu explicitace a implicitace v překladu.

Abstract:

This thesis looks into the problems connected with translation of children’s literature, especially the work Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne is inquired into. Several topics are dealt with: two full-lenght translations of Winnie-the-Pooh into Czech are compared (by Zdena Mathesiová and Hana Skoumalová), historical development of the text by Hana Skoumalová is surveyed (since its first publication in 1938 until today) and wider cultural impact of the work itself as well as of its spin offs is inquired into. Several translation topics are examined, among them for instance grammatical, lexical and textual equivalence, translation of names and word order. A great part of the thesis is concerned with explicitation and implicitation.
